So What’s Up?
Much. But let’s start with the blog.
During the days this site was an abandoned ship, when the captain had apparently drove himself into an iceberg and drowned with the wrecks, there were still people searching for the remnants of the riches inside. And the ghost of the captain kept an eye of the visitors, watching eagerly what the scavengers found most precious from his treasured ship. And there… more than half a year after it sunk, the ship remained a draw for visitors.
Did I just go through all that verbose shit to tell you that my blog still has its readers? Whatever – my blog is awesome that way. It is still gathering a crowd of regular visitors after over six months of inactivity!
(And no, sis, if you were the one lurking around here all this while… do NOT disillusion me.)
I am pleasantly surprised that to this date, the most popular post in the site is still the little rant I wrote during my days at work back home. I still find it amusing how visitors ended up stranded there. And seeing as the top searches that led to this blog used keywords like “homework vs student mentality”, “insight of teachers”, I was equally astounded that people DO Google these topics- like, what, teaching is actually an occupation that people care for! Maybe my days of teaching ahead won’t be so dim at all.
Of course, some of them just accidentally wound up here after typing these: “huge tits japenese teacher and student”. I don’t remember ever using the words “tits” here, but I reckon THAT will net tons of views.
That said, there were days behind where I found this blog a huge mental burden for me. The heap of unfinished posts didn’t help, and every time I entertained the thought of continuing them, my subconscious tried to drive it away. Then I started fearing to access the blog – afraid that it would remind me of how much of an uncommitted mess I am.
Then one day, it dawned on me that when I typed “s” on Firefox, it no longer showed “Inspiration, Intricacy, Infinity” as the first recommendation. Hell no, even typing “st” led me to Starcraft instead. Rage flashed in my mind. I then made a vow to keep this blog the most awesome “S” site in my browser, and to return it to its former “glory”. And there, the captain was revived along with his ship.

Me? Well, I’m doing fine, thanks. Other than the fact that I stood witness to the cataclysmic tragedy that befell Japan nearly half a year ago, and decided to write about the monumental event before letting the unfinished draft join the rotting lot… not much has changed about me, I guess. Well, procrastination is still everyone’s enemy. Perhaps I’ll find a new way to finish the post in a way that is still relevant to my situation today. Someday.
So I have been accepted to one of the leading universities in Japan, and now I am stuck in a rut of attending lectures and writing reports I don’t have half the idea about. But I’m doing mighty fine, thanks. And I have, hopefully, gained more motivation and became more ambitious than before. I really need those before I totally fade into the background.
By the by, owing to the ticket home I bought really late, I am now flat broke. Lo and behold, I am now eating things that I have sworn not to ever touch. The legendary Nattou. The thing is, for all purposes, the perfect food for an overweight poor guy. It’s disgustingly cheap, disgustingly nutritious, and disgusting… enough to make you so sick you don’t want to eat anymore for the day. The coming autumn won’t see me well off either, what with the scholarship of October coming on the last day of the month.
But I’m doing mighty damn fine, thanks. And I think I will have got my *treasured* parsimony back by the end of this summer.
So eh… I guess this is it for my first comeback post. I’ll have to regain my touch before writing on the more major topics I have waiting in line. Surprise, I actually plan what to write in my blog including my six-month hiatus. And yes, I plan on putting the word “tits” here and there to harvest even more views. Sue me.
